The staff here is friendly and attentive, making check-in a breeze. The pool area is inviting, and the cookies at the front desk were a nice treat. Unfortunately, the elevators were slow, which can be frustrating during peak hours. The lack of a mini fridge in the room was inconvenient too.

The property is lovely, and the warm cookies were a hit with the kids. Maintenance promptly resolved our AC issue, but it still struggled to blow cool air. Alyssa at the front desk was fantastic—friendly and helpful, even giving us a restaurant credit for our anniversary. Unfortunately, the bathroom setup was frustrating; the pocket door was heavy, and we had issues with towel supplies. The pool wasn’t as clean as I hoped, and parking felt lackluster. Two elevators for the entire hotel made getting around a hassle. Fine for a night, but there are better options out there.

During my recent stay, I loved how easy it was to discover nearby attractions like Torrey Pines State Beach just a short walk away and the beautiful Powerhouse Park only a 30-minute stroll from my room while the hotel offers a comfortable stay with friendly staff and some great amenities but the cleanliness of my room could have been better with dust on surfaces and a musty smell lingering despite my requests.

The facilities are nice and the staff is friendly. The happy hour offers great deals. The rooms are starting to show age, though. One elevator was down during my stay, which made getting around a bit slow.

The room offered a spacious layout that initially seemed inviting. the cleanliness left much to be desired. Dust accumulated on the nightstand and alarm clock, which was disappointing. The comforter had stains, and the musty odor was uncomfortable. Temperature control was adequate, and the bed itself was fairly comfortable for resting. Unfortunately, housekeeping was inconsistent, requiring requests for basic services. Noisy neighbors disturbed the quiet at times. The convenience of amenities was appreciated, but improvements in room cleanliness and maintenance would enhance the overall experience.

My friends and I had a blast at San Diego Polo Fields and Torrey Pines Golf Course near our hotel. The golf courses were lit! Perfect for chilling and flexing our skills. Shot some sick putts and enjoyed vibing with the crew.
Would've been epic to have a rad rooftop party spot for some post-golf shenanigans! .

The rooms are spacious and comfy, perfect for a family. The hotel offers free breakfast every morning which was a hit with the kids.

The heated saltwater pool was perfect for a fun day of swimming with my son and brother! We loved chilling by the fire pit afterward, making memories that will last. The friendly staff even surprised us with warm cookies — such a sweet touch!

Check-in was straightforward. The staff was friendly and helpful—a definite plus. The room had comfortable beds, scoring a perfect 10/10 for my back issues. The pool area was pleasant, but the restaurant fell short; minimal service and underwhelming buffet for $24.95. My room, unfortunately, was small, with a couch in disrepair. I encountered cleanliness issues, including a moldy shower and cloudy pool. One elevator for the entire place was inconvenient. I expected more for the price paid. Next time, I’ll consider a site with updated amenities and better dining options. I appreciate the cookies, but I’m in search of more reliable comfort.

Doubletree in San Diego/Del Mar is a hop, skip, and a putt away from top-notch golf at San Diego Polo Fields and Torrey Pines. The pool and bar area offered a relaxing spot for my family to unwind after a day of family fun.
My wife says that more kids' activities would enhance family stays.

I was rather disappointed with my recent stay at the Doubletree. The ironing facilities were old and barely functional. When I tried to use the heating in the room, it took forever to warm up, and the air conditioning was quite loud when it finally kicked in. I was looking forward to enjoying a cup of tea, but the tea and coffee facilities were lacking in terms of variety. Unfortunately, there was no mini-bar in the room, which I found surprising given the price I paid for the stay. The sitting area was cramped, and the garden furniture outside looked rundown and neglected. I was hoping for a relaxing bath, but the separate tub and shower was outdated and in need of refurbishment. the am/fm alarm clock worked well, and I appreciated having a direct dial telephone in the room. I was disappointed to find that HBO was not available on the TV. The lack of dry cleaning services on-site was inconvenient, and the housekeeping staff seemed overwhelmed as our room was not cleaned promptly during our stay. I was looking forward to exploring the shops and commercial services in the area, but they were limited and not very appealing. the lack of a happy hour or any special promotions was a missed opportunity for the hotel to create a more enjoyable stay experience.

the property was very nice, and the staff was very helpful and friendly. my room was clean and comfortable, and quiet. there was enough parking, and it was convenient to the hotel. the location was very good for my needs and felt safe. the area is amazing. you're close to the major attractions like seaworld, the zoo, restaurants, beaches, and more. the staff were all very friendly and warm and helpful. the property itself, inside and out was clean, smelled great and was sanitized regularly. the rooms and bathrooms could have been cleaner, and we had to physically ask for a fridge and microwave. also, breakfast was not free, we had to pay for that, but the makeup was very tasty, just a little pricey. aside from the rooms, we enjoyed our stay and would return. the property is nice with great amenities.

The Doubletree By Hilton in Carmel Valley was the perfect choice for my visit to Torrey Pines State Reserve. The palm-lined patio and pool area turned out to be an unexpected highlight, providing a pleasant spot to unwind after a day of exploring. , the Mosaic Kitchen & Bar was a delightful place to enjoy drinks and take in the pool view.
Thin walls, noisy nights.
